NYFW: Mara Hoffman Mashes Tribal Rituals With Star Wars?

And it somehow works. Hoffman took inspiration from Charles Fréger’s Wilder Mann, detailing the rituals of wearing animal skins in 18 European countries. Her second source of inspiration couldn’t have been a more bizarre match, yet she made the Star Wars mash up somehow work. The runway show flowed from knits and wools in tribal prints to geometric shapes and metallics. Leia-inspired braids finished off the looks perfectly. So weird, but worked so well.
