LFW: Emilia Wickstead’s Saccharine 1950’s S/S16 RTW Collection

A vintage inspired nod to the 1950’s, Emilia Wickstead‘s S/S16 RTW collection took London Fashion Week into a review of perhaps the eras most unfortunate color choices. Sickeningly sweet bubblegum pastel palettes paired with a mustard yellow and pistachio green. And then, a break to this saccharine color scheme came by way of florals that could have been stolen straight from my grandmother’s kitchen. Thankfully, the silhouettes were at least pleasant to the eye, with a caped gown, high waisted crop pant, classic sabrina neckline gown, an a boxy blouse over a short bubble skirt. I can’t make up my mind if this collection is sickeningly sweet or fifties fab?
