The Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2016 RTW collection was themed around the great outdoors. Entitled “Big Country”, the show was filled with daywear and more casual looks like tracksuits and cropped zippered jackets with cropped pants and loafers in camo, animal print, and web-like embroidery.
A few dresses and pantsuits popped up in the otherwise sporty collection, and these had a bit of outdoor techy feel to them with ripcords, grommets and fabric gathered and ruched to look like a tent or parachute gracefully folded down on itself. From a distance, it does not look like a collection that I’d immediately associate with Bottega Veneta. But as you get closer, you find all the little details, and the craftsmanship, and it makes you fall in love with the artistry and creativity of each piece.
