Giorgio Armani made the color red the focus of his namesake S/S16 RTW collection, intending to invoke imagery of shades of flame, lacquer, and geranium flowers. In some of the looks, there was just a little pop of a red stripe paired with loose organza navy pants and a crisp white jacket. In others, red dominated the look, like the sideways red ombre effect on a slip dress. A collection focused on casual pieces, there were many looks with shorts, pants and tea length dresses and skirts. The navy color, stripes, rope embellishments, and color palette all created a subtle nautical motif on a cheerful, chic collection that ran the gamut of textiles from super laid back to high glamour.
