PFW: Carven’s Oceanic Adventure Collection

Are you for scuba? The Carven S/S16 RTW collection totally made me think of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, as its motif was an oceanic adventure in the form of scuba diving. The nautical touches were subtle on long, lean silhouetted separates. Portholes covered a few looks in the form of eyelets – very clever. Blue stripes as well as coral and sea creature prints like jellyfish, puffer fish, and octopus paired with ruffled edges and beaded fringe that waved like tentacles or sea grass. Solid sandals looked like the base of flippers, adding a playful sense of humor to the impeccably tailored collection. The highlights of the collection were the asymmetrically draped layer skirts and the collection of wet suit-style neoprene pants, jackets and mini dress.
