Mashing up the 1930’s and 1990’s, Rachel Zoe‘s Fall 2016 RTW collection was full of luxe covet-worthy details Zoe has become known for. She always has an eye for the perfect elements, and in this case, they were realized in metallic fringe, pearl embroidery, feminine ruffles and lace, fur elements, and floral pops of metallic gold.

The black sheer gown with gold floral medallions looks strikingly similar to Monique Lhuillier’s version of the same trend, but the paneling, oversized sleeves, and plunging keyhole elements make Zoe’s so much more interesting.
Rachel Zoe always seems to strike that perfect balance in her looks. She layers textures, but they never seem too loud or busy, just sensual, flattering, and luxe. Her editing eye is perfection. We all want those elements that people fawn over, but so many designers don’t know when to pull back. Zoe is one of those few – perhaps due to her former role as a stylist – who can implement lots of amazing elements without going too far.
The outerwear of the collection is stellar, with a cream Mongolian lamb coat, a bomber sleek black bomber trimmed in the same lamb’s wool, a duster style black and grey jacket trimmed in matte leather, and psychedelic jacquard version with fur trim are all intriguing.
Sensuality, glamour, and grace exude from these looks, as they all move beautifully down the runway, enhancing beautiful feminine forms. Flowing dresses and minis mingled with more masculine separates. An all-leather tux, a ringmaster jacket over linear lace pants, and a long fur vest over a crimson psychedelic jacquard midi and OTK boots each create a buzz-worthy allure. Stunning.
