Monique Lhuillier is rethinking how she presents her fashion collections. In this era of major fashion industry evolution, the designer has opted out of a runway show to display her Fall 2017 collection in favor of a lookbook, which can better capture those sumptuous textures and details which can often get lost on runway photos. Think haute catalog. It’s business, after all.
Penelope Cruz went classic bombshell in a low-cut number at the 31st annual Goya Cinema Awards in Madrid, Spain. She wore a black high-slit gown that wrapped around the shoulders and a Swarovski pavé encrusted bra top, with the fabric ruching at her side.
He apparently just can’t get it together with this whole idea that there are other people who warrant consideration before making decisions. She’s one of my favorite style girls, and Olivia Palermo was at a lot of the big runway shows in Paris – of course wearing some the latest looks from the designers. From her killer Fay military coat with velvet details (that she wore twice and I probably wouldn’t have been able to take off), to the Elie Saab fringe fur vest, to no kidding, Nike. And it’s all here….
It was a display of fireworks on Zuhair Murad‘s Spring 2017 couture runway – the designer taking literal inspiration from the advanced pyrotechnic displays of Japan. The concept was realized through a few playsuits and jumpsuits, but mostly gowns of eye-popping color.
Simple is not the word to ever define a Valentino collection, but it certainly seemed to reflect the shift in perspective compared to collections past. Debuting his first solo couture collection without Maria Grazia Chiuri by his side, Pierpaolo Piccioli showed a surprising, but ever exquisite compilation inspired by dreamscapes.
