{Luxe for Less} Valentine’s Day Dresses

Whether it’s a date, a night out with the girls, or an anti-Valentine’s Day – VDay party, we just want to look good and feel good on and around Feb 14th. Single or taken, I like to look at it as that silly day the greeting card industry created to sell more cards, but that I now get to take advantage of to go out and have a good time. So thanks greeting card industry – the restaurant industry is now reaping the rewards more so than anything…from me at least! And of course, we have to look cute. So shopping! Let’s take a look at some of the best Valentine’s Day looks out there right now.

{Celeb Style} Olivia Palermo’s Best Looks at Paris Fashion Week

She’s one of my favorite style girls, and Olivia Palermo was at a lot of the big runway shows in Paris – of course wearing some the latest looks from the designers. From her killer Fay military coat with velvet details (that she wore twice and I probably wouldn’t have been able to take off), to the Elie Saab fringe fur vest, to no kidding, Nike. And it’s all here….

{Paris Fashion Week Spring17 Couture} Zuhair Murad’s Explosion of Color

It was a display of fireworks on Zuhair Murad‘s Spring 2017 couture runway – the designer taking literal inspiration from the advanced pyrotechnic displays of Japan. The concept was realized through a few playsuits and jumpsuits, but mostly gowns of eye-popping color.

{Paris Fashion Week Spring17 Couture} Valentino’s Greek Mythos Dream

Simple is not the word to ever define a Valentino collection, but it certainly seemed to reflect the shift in perspective compared to collections past. Debuting his first solo couture collection without Maria Grazia Chiuri by his side, Pierpaolo Piccioli showed a surprising, but ever exquisite compilation inspired by dreamscapes.

{Paris Fashion Week Spring17 Couture} Ralph & Russo

A favorite design house for the A-list red carpet, Ralph & Russo keeps stepping up their game. For the Spring 2017 couture collection, the magic team Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo wanted to offer a variety of red carpet worthy looks to every type of woman, focusing around the thought of empowerment. With Kirsten Dunst in attendance, I’m wondering if we might see one of these dresses on her in one of the coming awards shows….

{Paris Fashion Week Spring17 Couture} Giambattista Valli’s Paradox of the Thrown Together Boho Traveler & the Opulent Princess

Giambattista Valli managed to merge both the boho traveler and the princess in a ballgown into one couture collection, and I’m still not quite sure how this all fit together. For his Spring17 Couture runway at Paris Fashion Week, Valli imagined a (super rich) traveler pulling out her dresses to find major creases in them…but hey, you’re traveling. C’est la vie, right? It’s the bohemian, life?

{Paris Fashion Week Spring17 Couture} Chanel’s Spoon Dress Is All About the Curves

Lagerfeld took it back to soft sophistication (with a twist) in a sugary sweet palette accentuated by metallics for his Spring 2017 Chanel couture collection. The looks, classically feminine, were realized through variations of the house signature boucle jacket, and a parade of dresses and gowns in silver sequins, paillets, rhinestones, and feathers. Oh, the feathers.

{Paris Fashion Week Spring17 Couture} Versace’s Sublime Metamorphosis

There’s a lot of buzz surrounding the house of Versace right now, with rumors abound of talks between Donatella and Riccardo Tisci to move over in a jump from Givenchy. And did the need for help show obvious in the latest Versace couture collection? Oh no. Not at all.

{Paris Fashion Week Spring17 Couture} Christian Dior’s Magical Garden

We already knew the amazing work that Maria Grazia Chiuri was capable of when she worked at the house of Valentino…and now we’re really seeing her shine. This was the first couture collection of Christian Dior with Chiuri at the helm, and it was everything we wanted it to be.
