{OOTD} Pink Oversized Sweater and Leather Leggings

Ok, so I’m pretty much a pansy when it comes to cold weather, so I tend to dress like an Eskimo. I love anything warm, soft and cozy in the frosty winter months to keep me feeling snuggled and warm when I’m braving the elements ok, walking literally 2 blocks from my car to the coffee shop for some cocoa.

This oversized sweater is perfect for me for those chilly days. It’s actually an off-the-shoulder, but I like I found it was pretty versatile in styling, so my cold weather pansy self pulled up the OTS collar and styled it that way!

I styled it with faux leather quilted panel leggings that are super soft and comfy, and a pair of grey Antonio Melani cutout ankle boots from last season (no longer available). I should have gotten some shots of the bakery’s amazing espresso and hazelnut truffles…amazing!

PFW: Dior’s Jaunt in the Victorian South of France

Raf Simons imagined the South of France when creating the S/S16 RTW collection for Christian Dior. “I feel like doing something calm, calm and beautiful and sensitive and romantic—away from the overdone. I didn’t want to embellish…rainbows and the simple things. And there’s a bit of Victoriana: something of that film Picnic at Hanging Rock. With a slight sexual undertone of darkness.”

The result was a collection filled with scallop-edged handkerchief cotton shorts, crop tops and dresses with dark jackets that with just a touch of an hourglass figure. These and several oversize silhouettes and balloon sleeves each add a slightly androgynous feel to the collection. The oversized and scalloped plum and powder blue knit sweaters were both fascinating and unflattering. With so much restraint in the collection, I must admit I was left disappointed and hoping for more. There’s always next season!

MFW: Fendi S/S16 RTW Collection

The Fendi S/S16 RTW collection was all about the silhouette, with oversized sleeves, high necks, high waists, and rounded hips. Cutouts at the waist and large square pockets on the sides below the hips further exaggerated this effect. The palette of solid color looks varied from primary red to marsala, cerulean to olive drab. The collection was intricate and creative, yet polished with impeccable tailoring.

Dior’s 2016 Resort Collection

The Dior 2016 Resort collection’s runway locale was just as intriguing as the fashion itself. The show was hosted at the Palais Bulle (Palace of Bubbles) in France, owned by Pierre Cardin. Perhaps inspired by the surrealist movement, this home is a perfect pick for Dior’s collection. The silhouettes are playful, with a few bubble-sleeved tops, cutout patterns, and vibrant, almost classic comic color palettes. I’d wear almost all of these…and I’ll totally house sit any time!
