{Red Carpet Style} Natalie Portman & Nicole Kidman Attend the Hollywood Film Awards

The Hollywood Film Awards were held last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and the untelevised event actually turned out to be the most entertaining thing I wished we’d been able to see. According to reporter Bryan Alexander of USA Today, there was constant shade thrown on stage as actors, directors and industry professionals received their awards…and then proceeded to mock the HFA’s.

As interesting as I’m sure the night turned out to be, unfortunately we’re left to read about it and look at gorgeous fashion on the red carpet. A close second best! There were a few gorgeous red carpet looks, including Kate Hudson’s sultry plunge gown, Leslie Mann’s fiery ombre gown, and Janelle Monae’s white train jacket. Gorgeous. Who’s your best dressed? Emmy’s Best and Worst Dressed 2016

The Emmy’s red carpet was impressive. Celebrities were stepping out in stunning looks, but some inventive ones too – a few didn’t play it safe this year, and it was an interesting and varied show of mostly winning looks. So picking the best dressed list this year was hard (unlike last year!)

I am just loving her in this gown. The double trains down the side with those modern floral pops that aren’t over the top…it’s just striking the perfect balance with me. She looks fantastic!

Just another example of the model posse showing the rest of us how it’s done. Va va vixen, Ms. Emily Ratajkowski! I love the way the sculptural top ruches down into a beautiful mermaid, creating a statuesque silhouette…and the color is perfect. This is my favorite for the night from Zac Posen.

{Luxe Celeb Style} Natalie Portman’s Looks for “A Tale of Love & Darkness”

Natalie Portman has been making the circuit to promote her latest film and directorial debut in A Tale of Love & Darkness. Despite being Miss Dior herself, Portman has a hit and miss style history and this week has been no different.

Heading into Good Morning America, Natalie wore a mint collared blouse and matching mini skirt. Not a traffic stopping fashion moment, but a smart look if perhaps a little prim. The accessories were absolutely on point though.

With a Madison Avenue store set to open in 2017, it was New York as Elie Saab’s muse for his Fall 16 Couture collection, which was chock full of sheer Saab staples, but a few new surprises as well.

{Fall 2016 Couture} Atelier Versace

An incredible departure from Donatella Versace’s house signatures of ultra sexy, amped up embroideries, and logos, the Atelier Fall 16 Couture collection showed powerful pieces that showed off the house’s softer side, with draping, tailoring, and sculpting. The show opened in stellar drama, with Karen Elson in a cinched waist blush cashmere coat lined in mint, with one lapel falling off the shoulder, revealing a scarlet bustier gown underneath.

Versace started with rich and unusual color combinations in crimson, blush, lavendar, grey, and sky blue with mostly long silhouettes, building sculptural and draping details to create long, arcing shapes around the female form.

The show did go on the day following the tragedy in Orlando that left many viewers and participants drained and wondering how to appropriately honor the victims. Word quickly spread among the stars to wear silver ribbons, and the Tony Awards were dedicated to the families and friends of those affected by the tragedy in Orlando.

On the red carpet, it was a less somber atmosphere as celebs showed off their looks. There was a wide variety, and a few celebrities even took some risks. So let’s take a look at the nominees and cast your vote!
